.exe cgi's in OWAS 3.0

I recently upgraded from version 2.1 to 3.0 of Oracle Application Server. Things seem to work ok but I miss an important feature(?) of 2.1.

Under 2.1 (Windows NT 4.0) one could omit the .exe extension in a virtual directory mapped for CGIs. One could invoke the the extension (something IIS doesn't do) and it would run fine. Under 3.0 it does not work the same. Is there an option I'm not setting correctly?
