Are you working on UNIX?. (or NT,...). You have a parallel server
architecture?



If you're on Unix...



I'm not sure, but perhaps you had any problem that shutdown incorretly you
DB and exists any process (dbwr, pmon,... already working)?. See you
executing "ps -e" in your shell. If this is your only DB then you can kill
this process and startup the DB.
