Hello, first system info:

server machine: SunOS 5.5.1
server version: 7.2.3.0.0

Problem: while on the server machine, I try running sqlldr with a ctl file and I get the following error:

error loggin on to oracle:
ora-01034: oracle not avaliable
ora-07429: smsgsg: shmget() failed to get segment: svr4 error: 2: no such file or directory

I looked up the 01034 error using oerr ora and got no info and when I looked up the 07429, it came back with a i/o buffer was not aligned to the correct boundary. Our acting oracle sys admin doesn't know what this means or how to fix it. While trying to figure out what was going on, I tried accessing oracle through sqlplus and got the same errors. Can anybody tell what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks very much for your time and help.
