We are using PO7 Version 7.3. We connect to them remotely and to our main Alpha Server. You need to use the SQLNet Easy utility to set up the connection. This sets the TNSNAMES.ORA file that can be editted (orant\network\admin). This allows the "client" PO7 to connect to another which acts as the server. To connect the other way around the "server" needs an entry in TNSNAMES.ORA. Also check that the correct IP address is entered as well the instance of Oracle.

Actually I find PO7 to be very capable. The only thing I don't think can be done with it is to spread the log files onto different drives for redundancy.
