Hi,

 Unfortunately the commnad-line version of instance manager does not work for passowrd change. However, you might try the following method.

Assuming the Instance Name is EP01, do the following.

  1. Shutdown the database using server manager.
  2. Stop the CONTROL PANEL->Services->OracleServiceEP01
  3. Stop the CONTROL PANEL->Services->OracleStartEP01 if not already stopped.
  4. Start instance manager in GUI mode. C:\> ORADIM73
  5. Select the instance for which the password is to be changed. Say SID is EP01.
  6. Click on EDIT button.
  7. Type existing internal password as old password.
  8. Type new internal password, and reconfirm it by typing it in another field.
  9. Hit CLOSE button to save the changes.
  10. Edit $ORACLE_HOME\DATABASE\STRTEP01.CMD and change the INTERNAL password to new password.

Note : You can take the steps, based upon your instance name.

Hope this helps,
