Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.misc -> DB_LINK failure
I have two DEC Alpha/2100 running Digital UNIX 3.2g servers each running ORACLE 7.3.2.2.0. I know of no pertinent differences between the two servers.
On one of the servers I cannot use DB Links. Created the DB Link with sql*plus works, but when I try to use the DB Link, the command terminates, creating both a trace file and a core dump. The trace file has ORACLE error message 'ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump ...'.
I've checked the tnsnames.ora and init.ora files and can spot no problems. TNS Ping works as desired.
Note that creating and using DB Links on the other server works. This includes creating DB Links to the problem server. Also, Client/Server access works on both servers (except, of course, DB Links fail on my problem server).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
