Pesonal Oracle 8.0 and Developer 2K version 2.0

I can not get these two products to work together. I can install them ok but cant make a connection to the database. I have called Oracle Support to no avail and the issue is still unresolved. My only solution would be to go back to PO 7.3 which I know for a fact will work against Dev 2k ver 2.0.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
