Hi
A business just down the road are having severe problems - we don't work with Oracle but thought we'd try and help. If anybody recognises this problem and think they can help plesae respond asap.

Thaks in advance
Neil

We are URGENTLY seeking the assistance of an ORACLE (UNIX) specialist to help us to troubleshoot a problem we are experiencing with Oracle exports to tape.

We supply a software product (Sun Unix) that utilizes an Oracle database. Data storage occurs on a continuous basis. Each night the full database is exported to a DAT tape for backup/archiving purposes. We are finding that once the population of the database gets beyond a certain size, the export fails, seemingly due to rollback segment space. The only way we have been able get over this is to stop the data storage process while the export is carried out. However, we are also finding that the export can fail even when all data storage is stopped. This has become a serious problem as the continuous storage of data is important to our customers.

This problem is now being reported by several of our major customers, worldwide.

If you are able to help us on a consultancy basis, an immediate response to this request would be greatly appreciated. We need to solve this problem ASAP as the integrity of our customer's data is at great risk.
