Various sources vary, but import is alleged to be 4 to 8 x slower than export
according to the last person who helped me from O support. My experience at
that time was 4 hours to do a compressed(unix and oracle)/direct exp,
120+ to import it with precreated tables... it appeared to be slowing down
as time went on. 7.3.4, with or without indexes, 12G data.
