DBA/password verification

Hi all,

I have developed an application in Delphi and I am using ORACLE as its default database.

While I install my application I want to verify if the DBA and the password thats entered is correct. I have used the following command

plus33 system/MANAGER

This command works whenever the user name and password given are correct, if I make a small mistake and enter the command as

plus33 system/MANA353

I am asked to enter username and password twice, which I feel is not a clean installation.

Could someone suggest me how to check DBA/password info. Is there any other utility or tool that I can use to verify ?
