Hi,
To answer several problems in this thread, it is single-tier ODBC drivers rely on SQL*Net - in particular, you'd have to install sql*Net and the driver itself on every client machine.
What you should do is check out the OpenLink generic multi-tier drivers: you need only TCPIP from client to server, you install a generic client on each client machine and a broker and database agent on the server. There is a trial version, restricted by number of connections (not by time), available from openlink's website, http://www.openlink.co.uk/ . And they're at least as reliable as the intersolv offering too.
