Oracle Applications security procedures

Using Oracle Applications (Order Entry, etc) on Oracle7:

Are there any standard stored procedures that do the following ?
- validate an Application User / Password pair.

map an Application User name to a DB user name.
tell if an Application User is authorized (has responsibility) to access an application (e.g. Order Entry).

If so, what are the names and are they documented anywhere ?

If there are no standard procedures, is the SQL to do these available anywhere ?
