Which is why I believe that it must be scripted. IMHO a good dba should exactly know what the sizes the datafiles should be, the total size of a tablespace etc. I agree that a GUI tool is indespensible when looking after a database (even though I don't believe that Oracle's Enterpise Manager always fits the bill), but when it comes down to changing database structure it should be included in the db scripts for that database. BTW, dropping and adding datafiles can be very time consuming, especially if the datafiles are a couple of GB's.
But then every dha has his/hers own methods of doing things. :-)
