have you set the ORACLE_TERMINAL enviorment variable ??
I have had the best luck using a ansi terminal
and setting TERMINAL=ansi and ORACLE_TERMINAL=ansi
but I am not sure about AIX. Take a look inside of the
orainst script it might give you an idea what the installer is trying
to do.
