Help on ORACLE Security Please

I'm running Powerbuilder with an ODBC and SQL*Net link to an ORACLE 7.1 database. I want to assign users with certain permissions to the database tables etc. However they can also access the database via MS Access, declaring them as external tables, and I don't want the permissions to hold if it is accessed in this manner. Does anyone have any ideas?
