Hi,
if you enabled inactivity timeouts the physical connection will be closed (your 5 minutes intervalls). Despite spoofing enabled Oracle will loose connection as it happens with your installation. To let Oracle keep connection you have to disable SAP 103 on your IPX-Router and you've got to set the Oracle listener timout to infinity. The last point will lead to the following: Assuming a workstation hangs or breaks down none of the oracle connections the user at this opened before will be
closed automaticaly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So your DBA has to look forconenctions no longer in use, despite your DB ist shutdown every night for a cold backup.
