you can even reference the host name that you supplied in the tnsnames.ora and add it the the hosts file on your client 95/nt machine with the ip address of the server. Just add an entry in hosts like:  XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX <server machine name>

I have gotten both 16bit and 32bit to work. This is a problem with resolving the name and doesn't have anything to do with 32bit vs. 16bit.
