I don't agree. I think it's a bug. I have had the same problem in 3 different environments. I can connect to the database with numerous other Oracle products, including Des2K 1.3.2 which is VERY new, without even a hiccup.
Another thing I tried was to reverse engineer an ACCESS DB using the ODBC connection. It pulled the tables into a diagram OK, except when I clicked on the DONE button on the popup window, the diagram and DB Designer closed without saving the diagram. Though I have successfully reverse engineered another small ACCESS DB. Go figure?!?!
