Definetly: No, Yes, Yes

Means:
Use oradim (the commandline version) to create a new instance =

and create a new database on that instance. Works fine.

Dunno, sorry
Best way (also for security, backup, recovery,...) IMHO is to use a second instance (means to create two new services under NT).
