Changing Version and Platform - Suggestions?

Moving from Oracle Financials (AP) 10.5 on a SUN platform to 10.7 on an AIX platform. Have done upgrades before, but not normally complicated by changing HW platform at the same time. More interesting is that we have 10.5 on the SUN, and 10.6 and 10.7 on the AIX (neither installed as yet). So, am thinking that I have to get 10.5 on the AIX before I can pull it over to do the upgrade?

Also, the server on AIX is 7.3.x while on SUN its 7.1.x and I gather there is a patch that will allow 10.5 to exist (dare I say run?) on 7.3.x, but can't seem to find out what the availability of the patch is.

Suggestions and pointers eagerly welcomed as it seems to be taking Oracle support a while to get back to me on these.

Thanks,
