Are you using the LIST command under SQL*PLUS to list the error lines, or are you relying on a correlation to your original source file? In other words, using SHOW ERRORS, followed by using LIST nnn command to list the error line. The error line reported does not necessarily match that of the line number in you original source file.
However, when certain elements are missing (such as a quote), I suppose that it is possible that the parser might think that the next 'n' lines were somehow all part of a string.
I've always had very good correlation between the lines shown by the SHOW ERRORS command and those displayed as a result of the LIST command. Received on Thu Jun 19 1997 - 00:00:00 CDT
