The system we are working on seems to select quite quickly. Granted, our db is still only a few meg, so we'll have to wait and see
what happens when we really put a load on the server and the db grows to a few gig.
Something that does seem strange though is that the logon time to the listner server can take as long as 30 sec's. Don't suppose you know of any way to accelerate this process? :-)
My guess is that there might be something wrong with the listner services or maybe the version/configuration. Then again, maybe this is normal for the Oracle/AIX/RS6000 configuration?
