Oracle <-> ODBC <-> Mac

Does anyone have any experience setting up ODBC between a Macintosh and an Oracle7 Server. I would like to get MS Excel to read data from a database on a UNIX server running Oracle7 Server. I have the cooperation of the database administrator, but he does not know how to get ODBC working. Is there some sort of listener that has to be installed on the Oracle side? Any help would be appreciated.
