Inserting a picture (.gif or .bmp) into an Oracle Table

Hi
Can anyone help with the syntax for either an insert statement or using SQLLoad to place a .gif or .bmp file into a raw or long raw column in an Oracle table? I have searched in the Oracle FAQ, on the Oracle home page, at ODTUG, and even did several searches using an assortment of search engines. No luck.
