I finally gave up on phoning the Oracle people over here as all I was getting was 'we are waiting for Oracle in the US to reply to our mail'. In the end, I sent an email direct to the odp postmaster from the Oracle site and marked it ***URGENT*** in the subject area. That seemed to work - within 24 hours I could log in to the Oracle 8 area. Still, all you can do when you get there is enter your name and address - it says Oracle 8 Beta will be out sometime this month...
