There is a program called orapwd72.exe in your orawin95/bin-directory. Enter the following at the operating system prompt:

orapwd72 file = $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/orapw$ORACLE_SID password=manager

You should then be able to start the database as DBA.

There is also a setting in your Win95 registry called : hkey_local_machine/software/oracle->>DBA_AUTHORISATION.

I don't know exactly how things work, but you can give it a try,
