ParcPlace-Digitalk, in conjunction with Oracle Corp., has created an
object technology curriculum that will be taught to thousands of Oracle business and technology consultants around the world. Parcplace's object-oriented training curriculum will be the foundation of Oracle's Oracle8 product training program and will be used internally at Oracle to
prepare consultants to build Java-based, object-relational applications for new and existing Oracle databases. The three courses are:
Object Concepts for Oracle Developers Introduction to Java for Oracle Developers Distributed Objects Workshop for Oracle Developers
The curriculum emphasizes hands-on practice using Java to create
database
applications and also integrate existing applications into a new
enterprise
architecture based on Java, CORBA and NCA. The focus is on evolutionary
integration of these technologies to provide a bridge to Oracle 8.
The 4-day courses are currently being piloted with a select group of
Oracle
consultants. Parcplace is also making a public version of courses
available to Oracle customers and the public. For more information on
the courses visit the
training area of the Parcplace website at:
