Why are you using dlls that were not deployed with the database version that you are currently using? I am assuming here, but I think that some options available in Oracle 7.3x client (ORA73WIN.DLL) do not exist with a 7.2x server, therefore you might see wierd stuff.

I would suggest using the ORA72WIN.DLL that is on your Oracle installation CD.
