The best way to deal with these scams is to e-mail the ISP of the poster. What you do is get the header information from the MMF post and find the last domain in the newsgroup path. This is usually the provider of the person who posted the scam. Then e-mail the header and the content of the message to news_at_theirdomain.net and CC it to abuse_at_theirdomain.net . Most ISP's in the US will cancel the post within a day.

Whatever you do, do not reply to that message in the newsgroups. Quite often, the original post will get cancelled nearly immediately but the replys to that post will continue to grow and remain in the newsgroups thus defeating the purpose.
