[Q] Problem using OLE with Forms 4.5

Hello.

This is the problem I am facing:

I am porting an application from Access 2.0 to Forms 4.5. The Access application relies heavily on OLE to link/embed Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. When I try to duplicate that in Forms, Forms GPFs consistently. If, however, I map the OLE container field to a non-database field, everything works fine (except that I can't save the link).

My environment is as follows:

Oracle version 7.1.6
Oracle Forms 4.5 version 1.3 (16 bit - I can't use 32 bit b/c we use VBXs) Windows95/NT 3.51
