Large image tables and jukebox opinions please

I'm setting up an image server from a CD ROM jukebox, and I figure there are two ways to set up my database.

  1. Include the path name in a database field, and let the image server software load the image based on this information (I don't think this will work well for an enterprise system.
  2. Associate a table with an optical volume and when I do a select blob, the jukebox software intercepts the requests and loads the image.

Has anyone done either of these? Can anyone suggest any products? Right now, I'm looking at Avail for a solution to #1.

Thanks for any info. Received on Sun Feb 16 1997 - 00:00:00 CST
