The split did pass, and has been implemented. However, I think there have been problems on the usenet with articles not getting through. A post I made in this thread a few days ago hasn't shown up on DejaNews, but it can be found on my news server. So I'm trying to post via DejaNews' new usenet posting service. I hope this article gets out....
The vote passed and the result was posted on Oct. 4. I have included the first part of the text below, taken directly from DejaNews.
The commands to create the new groups went out on Oct. 10. This newsgroup, comp.databases.oracle will be removed on Dec. 10.
If your news carrier hasn't created the new groups, it is time to contact the news administrator and request that they be created immediately!!!
