Ecandrietta, being that the OP's posted query uses V$SESSION and that 'VALI=
D' is not one of the five valid values of the STATUS column what column val=
ue are you referring to?

You may want to add the clause


and blocking_session_status =3D 'VALID'


I=92ve seen cases where blocking_session is not null, but the blocking_sess=
ion_status !=3D =91VALID=92.   I believe that both checks are needed to avo=
id giving false positives.
