I have now verified that this is not a box specific issue It happens on two boxes.
"Aborted" message at beginning of duplicate database using rman.

Now the big question! Do the old non rman duplicate database methods still
work?
I need this to reinstate my standby while we slowly go through the oracle
Support machine.
Such a pity as rman seemed such a good robust product.
