Chris If I am correct, You can do with the following way * Create A Service to point to Node 1 as Preferred and Availble as other * Then Create Job Class and select the Service Created in Step 1 * Then You can assign the Job Class while defining the Scheduler Job There is one presentation that has some of the Screensot at the following URL http://www.datasoftech.com/library/NYOUG_Job.pdf Sanjay ________________________________ From: Christopher Boyle <cboyle_at_onboardinformatics.com> To: Christopher Boyle <cboyle_at_onboardinformatics.com>; oracle-l_at_freelists.org Sent: Wed, October 7, 2009 12:57:20 PM Subject: DBMS_SCHEDULER 11g chain affinity Good Morning Oracle 11g 1.0.7.0 RAC on2Windows boxes. I have managed thru the use of PSexec to be able to call external procedures using dbms_scheduler. I have set up a chain with a list of programs but the ones executed on instance 1 fail while the ones executed on instance 2 succeed. I have looked at the documentation and not found a way to restrict the actual programs to a particular node, only job that calls the chain has an affinity attribute. Can anyone suggest a method to accomplish this while I determine why instance 1 hates me? Thanks, Chris
