Oracle on Sun T-series? Run away - RUN AWAY!

Check out the oracle-l archives, the internet and Metalink note 781763.1 for more details, but Jeff's comment below sums it up nicely.

And, by "single process" consider that any long running query, DML, batch job, backup/restore, exp/imp, datapump, etc. will run MUCH slower. Also keep in mind that OS level operations will also be much slower, e.g. software installations, large file copies, compression, etc.
