mmon logging

In 10gR1/2 is there a way to turn off mmon logging to the log file while doing its work? The logfile is getting larger and larger and I'd hate to bounce the instance to clear it. Any tricks? a cursory check with Metablink and param list didn't yield anything. I am now reading through all init parameters.
