Ray, we performed the same surgery on two of ours Slowaris servers and we have
SunOS eora3 5.9 Generic_108528-26 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-80

I relinked everything by using "relink all" command and things work for more then a
month. This is not an exciting move, it's rather boring and non-eventful, just as I like
them.
PS:
You don't have to name your server EORA3 for things to work.
