We wanted to be able to install Oracle without having to physically go to the server and insert the CD so we put a copy of Oracle on a NAS directory. We then set up the server that I want to install Oracle on so that it can see the NAS directory when you do a df-k I tried doing an install from that directory by doing ./runInstaller. It was so slow that after about 6 hours I just cut if off. Is there an easier/faster way of doing this?
