RE: help trying to clone database to remote server

I appreciate your help but I have following Oracle's instructions on cloning databases with RMAN - per their instructions I set NSR_CLIENT to the oracle host in the script as you can see in the original e-mail. I have used this script to clone before with success - that is what is frustrating me.

Once I set the NSR_CLIENT in my script I did not need to also set that as a param. In my allocate auxiliary channel.

Nope.

I have never worked with NSR but you don't seem to follow what I was trying to explain: the pointer to the NSR server was correct, the pointer to the NSR client is not.
I guess you'll have to use something like:

allocate auxiliary channel d1 type 'SBT_TAPE' parms = 'ENV=3D(NSR_CLIENT=3Dthe
production server where the primary database is located)';

Jerome
