Bryan,
 The partitioning license is needed if you use the option for your business, etc.
You can use the product to learn and play. Yes, it is a separate license.

Please excuse my ignorance. Especially when it comes to licensing. Because Im learning by fire, like most of you may have im sure, im curious about partition licenses. I have a 9i datawarehouse on w2k that uses table partitions to segment out fiscal years. is this partitioning an add on to the EE license?
