For an external table, which is actually allowing you to bring data into the database but having the storage outside the database! Add rowcount * avgrowlen + (negative) # extents and you end up with zero. The number-crunchers are happy and your reports are correct.=20

Well, I did think of that, but couldn't come up with a good reason for a negative number of extents.
