Write an email, right now, to your management, and to whomever was involved in this decision, expressing your deep concerns about the risks they've taken with enterprise data and it's availability.

This is your only chance, when your databases are down (and they inevitably will be in a matter of time), to defray the blame.

And as I'm often fond of saying to those who make decisions I don't agree with, or are forced to live with them "good luck with that....".
