Is it best to use an Oracle Text index on a column where you want to search for '%some_text%' on a column, or is the another way to do this without performing a full table scan? I am running EE 9.2.0.3. The column is varchar2(255). The table itself has approximately 1,000,000 rows.

If there are other things that I need to consider when making this decision, your advice is welcome?

Thanks,

Rick Stephenson
