Hello.

I'm hoping someone has a solution, or I can talk to someone offline
about this. We take RMAN backups of our production site and standby
site. I want to be able to use the standby backup to create an auxiliary
instance on the standby server. But we use a Tivoli device for our
production backups and backup to disk on the standby site. How can I get
RMAN to use the standby disk backups to create an auxiliary instance on
the standby host server?

According to the RMAN 9i Backup and Recovery book (Oracle Press), I can
use a standby backup to restore production. Is there a way to use the
standby backup to create an auxiliary instance or is the only use
restoring to production? For various reasons I can't use a production
backup to create an auxiliary instance.

Thanks,

Jeff
