Ding!  Sorry, not the case.  Since you can use a command like CONVERT
TABLESPACE ... DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='c:\oracle\..." I can't see how you
need ASM in this at all?

RMAN does support this in 10g but you have to use
Oracle's Automatic Storage Management instance (ASM)
to use this feature. 

You still won't be able to move Oracle datafiles
between different OS file systems in 10g even if you
use RMAN. 

ASM storage does not present itself to the OS so you
have to RMAN and Enterprise Manager (Grid Control) to
manage it for you.
