Hi,
I need help to solve a peculiar problem .

I have a Oracle 8.1.7.4.11 on windows 2000 sp3.This is a stand-alone server .

I am facing a peculiar problem .After rebooting the server , the listener hangs during start . lsnrctl hangs.

        Tried out the following .

  1. removed snmp*.ora
  2. Ensured that terminal services are not used to start listener.
  3. Made Listener.log =3D 0 bytes.
  4. The Oracle_home has sufficient space .
  5. set oracle_home,oracle_sid to correct values .
  6. Compared sizes of tns*.exe............ sizes are ok. Copied a good one.
  7. Trying to start listener from console. Still hangs.=20
  8. Rebooted the server without any positive result .
  9. Created a new listener.ora using net8 , still listener hangs.
  10. Checked the ipaddress , it is correct .
  11. Ping to the host ...works fine .
  12. No patches applied to the OS or to Oracle .
 		Thanks and regards
