Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> rman expired vs obsolete
Hi,
I'm getting a little confused between expired backups and obsolete backups. As I understand it, expired means the backups are no longer on disk. Obsolete means the backup is too old(?).
Since I have a data ware house, I only have room on disk for 1 backup. Prior to running my weekly backup, do I issue a Delete Expired or Delete Obsolete, to remove last weeks backup that is currently on disk.
Thanks
Randy
