True, but you can use a UNC address \\machine_name\shared_dir to copy a backup file remotely. But you need to make sure that the user who fires off the copy command has write access on the shared destination directory.

Hello,
Oracle on Windows don't support network drives. You may copy backup file from one server to other manualny, and then create standby database from backup.
