But this is where the new 'learning CBO' comes into picture isn't it? in 10g CBO looks at the history and then modified the execution plans.

This is all from Oracle 10g propaganda sheets, I'll agree when I see it in action.

At this point it would seem beneficial to differentiate between a bug and a logic error.

Roughly, a bug would seem to be code that falls into one of two categories:

A logic error would be found in code that does exactly what the developer intended, but what the developer intended is the wrong thing to do.

This could be expanded to include the inability of CBO to properly identify a usage pattern.

just my opinion.
